When you look and feel good, the rest of your life aligns into place with ease. When we take care of ourselves we are more able to be there for others and most importantly show up for ourselves each day with passion and determination.
Natural body transformations are what I pride myself on and my client's health is of the utmost importance to me. The road may be longer, but in the end, it’s always worth it to know you have given your all and never sacrificed who you are!
Don’t look to a diet to make a difference as it will never have long term sustainability. Instead, look for a lifestyle change that empowers you daily through positive self-oriented habits and physical daily activity. You are worth it!
My father passed away when I was 19 due to congestive heart failure. This event in my life conspired a passion for fitness and to help others live healthy lives and be there for their kids and themselves.
Just like those I train, I too frequently struggle with doing the things I know are good for my health. Sure, there are days and sometimes weeks where I am like the Rock of Gibraltar and eat right and exercise regularly, and then there are those days when all I want is to indulge in Cheat Foods all day long. When this happens, and it does, I will begin negotiating with myself and I find it actually works well for me. For example, I might say to myself, hey, it’s okay to have a ‘single’, whatever I want to eat cheat meal or a cheat snack (or two --- depending on the sugar/carb content) today only but no more cheating for the entire week. The truth is, if we, and I mean everyone on this planet, restricts themselves too stringently, the conscious mind will indeed win the battle and then all hell breaks loose and the diet is shot. As for working out, I know there's no shame in missing a day here and there, but I try to never go more than 2-days without pushing, pulling or lifting something. So, the Lifetime Goal I would most like to achieve would be for me to happily and easily remain at 10-12 percent body fat year-round. And as an older adult, I would also like to be able to run at least two 10k marathons each year and be brave enough to enter at least one Tough Mudder or Spartan Race annually.
"I know what I need to do, I just can't make myself do it". I hear that sentiment all too often from prospective clients, friends, family, and even people I meet for the very first time. The truth is, without motivation most of us give up on achieving a goal, any goal. One would think that with preventable chronic diseases on the rise, and the ability to slow and even reverse the horrible effects of these illnesses by simply changing diet and exercise habits, such changes would be easy to achieve, yet most people can’t achieve success alone. That is where the Fit Pro comes into the picture. Fitness Professionals motivate you, and without consistent Motivational Accountability, chances are people attempting to go it alone will indeed fail to reach their respective health and fitness goal. Therefore, I implore anyone with the desire to succeed at attaining better health and quality of life to strongly consider hiring a great fitness professional.
